Settings
Open Settings by clicking the gear icon in the top-right corner of the DataSabi window.
Alert thresholds
The Alert thresholds section lists the rules that trigger desktop notifications on metered connections. The defaults are:
- 50 MB in 15 minutes
- 150 MB in 60 minutes
These can be changed to match your bundle size. To edit a rule, click Edit next to it, change the threshold, and click Save. To remove a rule, click Delete. To add a new rule, click + Add rule and enter the threshold in MB and the time window in minutes.
For more on how alerts work, see Alerts.
Quiet mode
Quiet mode silences all alert notifications for a set period. Choose from: 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, or Until tomorrow (24 hours). A banner appears at the top of the Settings panel while quiet mode is active, with a Resume button to turn it off early.
Use this when you know a large download is in progress and don't want to be interrupted.
Data units
DataSabi can display usage in binary (default) or decimal units:
- 1 GB = 1 024 MB (binary, default) — matches what Linux and Windows report
- 1 GB = 1 000 MB (decimal / telecom) — matches how operators advertise speeds and data plans
If you want to compare DataSabi's numbers directly with your MiFi or SIM card balance, switch to decimal. Mobile operators count in decimal.
Start at login
Toggle Start at login to control whether DataSabi launches automatically when you log in. When on, the app starts hidden in the tray (no window) so it doesn't interrupt your login. When off, you open DataSabi manually.
DataSabi enables this automatically the first time it runs. Turning it off here is permanent — it won't be re-enabled on the next launch.
Export as CSV
Click Export usage history as CSV to download a CSV file with per-app, per-day usage for the last 30 days. The file opens in any spreadsheet app.
