Install on Fedora (beta)
This page walks you through installing DataSabi on Fedora. Fedora support is in beta — it hasn't been as widely tested as the Ubuntu/Debian path. If you run into issues, email isaac@arkodeon.com.
Before you begin
- You need a recent Fedora release with systemd and dnf.
- You need sudo access.
- You need 64-bit x86 hardware (x86_64). ARM is not yet supported.
Step 1 — Download both files
Go to the download page, select the Fedora tab, and grab two files:
datasabi-collector-*.x86_64.rpm— the background serviceDataSabi-*.x86_64.rpm— the desktop app
Step 2 — Install both packages
Open a terminal in your Downloads folder and run:
sudo dnf install ./datasabi-collector-*.x86_64.rpm ./DataSabi-*.x86_64.rpmDNF resolves any missing dependencies automatically.
Step 3 — Log out and back in
You only need to do this once. Log out fully — locking the screen is not enough. Then log back in.
Step 4 — Open DataSabi
Search for DataSabi in your application launcher. The Monitoring badge confirms the service is running.
GNOME users: the tray icon requires the AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support GNOME Shell extension. Without it you won't see the tray icon, but the app and alerts still work.
You should see
- A Monitoring badge in the top-right corner
- Today's data total and a list of apps that used the network
If you see "Not connected", see Troubleshooting.
